“They are the result of the special relationship with our tanners, Simone & his family, and with Italy in general. I went to Italy earlier this year, accompanied with my father, to meet our tanners in the countryside near Florence. Together, we talked about life, passion, dedication and art under the Tuscan sun. We explored the leather and they introduced me to new colours which I immediately knew were right for paper republic. Colours which I know look beautiful now, but moreso because in them I see a subtle beauty, a certain charm, which will make them even more beautiful and interesting when they develop their patina throughout the years. But what else can I say, I am very smitten, and I will let these wonderful colours speak for themselves.” - Jérôme Bacquias.
